MAP Waves Rules

MAP Waves are my modified counting for wave formation based on Elliot Waves, however to make a workable model that can be traded MAP Wave counting rules are simply 5 waves up and 5 waves down.

Hence waves have definite tops and bottoms so no abc'and endless correction nor higher highs nor lower lows.

For basic wave understanding see  MAP Waves 1 – Behaviour and EW Wave Basics

FOR UP WAVES ON ANY WAVE SCALE:

  • P1 must be greater than P0
  • P2 must be greater than or equal to P0 and less than P1
  • P3 must be greater than or equal to P1
  • P4 must be greater than or equal to P2 and less than P3
  • P5  must be greater than or equal to P3

FOR DOWN WAVES ON ANY WAVE SCALE;

  • P-1 must be less than P0
  • P-2 must be less than or equal to P0 and must be greater than P-1
  • P-3 must be less than or equal to P-1
  • P-4 must be less than or equal to P-2 and greater than or equal to P-3
  • P-5 must be less than or equal to P-3

BULLISH Waves are 1,3,5,-2 and -4 BEARISH Waves are 2,4,-1,-3 and -5

  • P - pivot followed by number

Marc, is the wave scale stated right at P4, both up and down, last portion?
Up states : P4……P2 and less than P3
Down states: P-4……P-2 and greater than or equal to P-3

  2. Two questions come to mind…why 5 down…when Elliott Wave usually has ABC down for SPX.

Can you define when a pivot becomes a pivot….can you identify/project in real time…or only after the fact.
